Garmin Striker Vivid 5cv
If you want a fishfinder that does the job without a lot of extra buttons to figure out, the Striker Vivid 5cv is worth a hard look. It's a 5-inch unit with CHIRP sonar and ClearVu scanning sonar built in, GPS for marking spots, and Quickdraw Contours so you can build your own lake maps as you fish. No charts included, no Wi-Fi, no frills. Just solid sonar and a screen you can actually read in the sun. Available with or without the GT20-TM transducer.
What It Does on the Water
CHIRP sonar runs traditional frequencies so you get good separation between fish and bottom, and you can tell the difference between a walleye sitting two feet off a rock pile and the rock pile itself. ClearVu fills in the picture below the boat with a sharper, more detailed image than standard down-imaging. Good for reading structure on lakes where the bottom changes fast. The GT20-TM transducer handles both sonar types and includes a temperature sensor.
GPS is built in so you can drop a waypoint on a good spot, build routes between your launches and your holes, and track your speed. Quickdraw Contours maps the bottom as you move, storing up to 2 million acres of your own contour data with 1-foot detail. On a lake you fish every week, that adds up fast.
Professional Installation at Ben's Marine
Transducer angle and placement matter more than most people think, especially on a cv unit where ClearVu performance depends on a clean, consistent signal. Our technicians mount the GT20-TM where it belongs and run the wiring right so you're not chasing interference on the water.
Ben's Marine can handle:
- Striker Vivid 5cv mounting and installation
- GT20-TM transducer placement and wiring
- Power wiring and cable management
- Software updates and on-screen setup
