Garmin GPSMAP 1243
The GPSMAP 1243 is a 12-inch IPS touchscreen chartplotter with Garmin Navionics+ US and Canada coastal charts and inland mapping already loaded, plus HDMI video output for sending your display to a second screen at the helm. The slimline, edge-to-edge glass design fits in a wider range of dash configurations, and two Garmin Marine Network ports give you more flexibility when building out a multi-unit helm.
What It Does on the Water
The GPSMAP 1243 connects to your Garmin Marine Network across two ports to share maps, radar, sonar, and IP camera feeds across multiple units on the same boat. It supports NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 for autopilots, VHF, AIS, digital switching, and other sensors. Built-in Wi-Fi connects to the ActiveCaptain app for software updates, chart upgrades to Navionics Vision+, and access to the Garmin Quickdraw Contours community.
It pairs with Panoptix and LiveScope sonar via a compatible black box sonar module, sold separately. For sailors, it includes SailAssist features with laylines, race start guidance, wind rose, true wind data, and set and drift on screen. Engine connectivity supports J1939 and select Yamaha engines, and OneHelm integration brings EmpirBus digital switching onto one screen.
