Garmin GPSMAP 923xsv
The GPSMAP 923xsv is a 9-inch chartplotter and sonar combo with built-in ClearVu, SideVu, and CHIRP sonar. It has the same slimline, edge-to-edge glass design as the GPSMAP 923, with 50% more pixels than the previous generation, but adds a 12-pin transducer port so you can connect a compatible transducer directly without a separate black box. It ships with a worldwide basemap, so charts need to be purchased separately.
What It Does on the Water
The built-in sonar handles ClearVu and SideVu scanning at 260, 455, and 800 kHz, plus CHIRP traditional sonar at 50, 77, 83, and 200 kHz, with 1 kW of transmit power. You get detailed bottom and structure imaging right out of the box once you add a compatible transducer. For LiveScope and Panoptix live sonar, you still need a compatible black box sonar module, sold separately.
The GPSMAP 923xsv connects to your Garmin Marine Network to share maps, radar, sonar, and IP camera feeds across multiple units on the same boat. It supports NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 for autopilots, VHF, AIS, digital switching, and other sensors. Built-in Wi-Fi connects to the ActiveCaptain app for chart purchases, software updates, and access to the Garmin Quickdraw Contours community. Engine connectivity supports select Yamaha engines, and OneHelm integration brings EmpirBus digital switching onto one screen.
