Garmin GPSMAP 743

The GPSMAP 743 is a 7-inch touchscreen chartplotter with Garmin Navionics+ US and Canada coastal charts and inland mapping already loaded. You get detailed lake and coastal coverage right out of the box, with Auto Guidance+ technology to help you plot a course around hazards. The display has 60% more pixels than the previous generation 7-inch GPSMAP units, and the slimline, edge-to-edge glass design fits in a wider range of dash configurations than older models.

What It Does on the Water

The GPSMAP 743 connects to your Garmin Marine Network to share maps, radar, sonar, and IP camera feeds across multiple units on the same boat. It supports NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 for autopilots, VHF, AIS, digital switching, and other sensors. Built-in Wi-Fi connects to the ActiveCaptain app for software updates, chart upgrades to Navionics Vision+, and access to the Garmin Quickdraw Contours community.

It pairs with Panoptix and LiveScope sonar via a compatible black box sonar module, sold separately. For sailors, it includes SailAssist features with laylines, race start guidance, wind rose, true wind data, and set and drift on screen. Engine connectivity supports J1939 and select Yamaha engines, and OneHelm integration brings EmpirBus digital switching onto one screen.
