Garmin GPSMAP 1243xsv
The GPSMAP 1243xsv is a 12-inch chartplotter and sonar combo with built-in ClearVu, SideVu, and CHIRP sonar, Garmin Navionics+ US and Canada coastal charts and inland mapping already loaded, and HDMI video output for sending your display to a second screen at the helm. Two Garmin Marine Network ports and a 12-pin transducer port give you a full-featured helm in one unit. Add a compatible transducer and you have detailed bottom and structure imaging right out of the box.
What It Does on the Water
The built-in sonar handles ClearVu and SideVu scanning at 260, 455, and 800 kHz, plus CHIRP traditional sonar at 50, 77, 83, and 200 kHz, with 1 kW of transmit power. For LiveScope and Panoptix live sonar, you still need a compatible black box sonar module, sold separately.
The GPSMAP 1243xsv connects to your Garmin Marine Network across two ports to share maps, radar, sonar, and IP camera feeds across multiple units on the same boat. It supports NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 for autopilots, VHF, AIS, digital switching, and other sensors. Built-in Wi-Fi connects to the ActiveCaptain app for software updates, chart upgrades to Navionics Vision+, and access to the Garmin Quickdraw Contours community. Engine connectivity supports J1939 and select Yamaha engines, and OneHelm integration brings EmpirBus digital switching onto one screen.
