To lower the unit, loosen the collars, slide it down, and tighten them again. When you want the mount off the deck, the quick release base lets you remove it with a turn of the knob. Lock it back into place just as easily when you are ready to fish again.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe Ultimate Quick Release is manufactured in the USA from 6061 aluminum and 304 stainless steel. It is compatible with Garmin, Humminbird, and Lowrance electronics. The mount comes with an under-deck plate mounting base, and the base measures 5-3\/8 inches by 5-3\/8 inches.
